Here at NightSparx all our Pyrotechnicians are fully qualified to the governmental required standards, in accordance with BPA procedures and have passed the BPA training scheme.
Ken Coker
Ken is able to draw upon over 20 years experience in both firing and designing firework displays for a wide and varied selection of groups, societies, councils and private parties. He has been involved for so long sometimes it feels as if he was present at the invention of gunpowder itself!!! Ken is the driving force behind Nightsparx and as such is the un-official leader of the team. Enjoys the more technical side of designing and co-ordinating the displays that we perform he is responsible for the choreography and visual aspect of our events. He has the confidence and trust of all of the Nightsparx team and with the senior management at Star Fireworks. His professional ability and constant communication with clients ensures displays are always in excess of expectations without any compromise to safety. Ken currently holds both the BPA level one and level two certification.
Martyn is an all round specialist in the fireworks business. Expert in fusing and demonstrating competition level proficiency and skill in this area he is also proficient in the use of the latest electronic firing methods and particularly the FireOne system. This allows Martyn to be a regular on the larger displays provided by Star Fireworks that are fired electronically, and guarantees exceptionally high quality for any display you might be thinking of having yourself. Keen in the design and construction of custom pieces for special occasions there is always something special in any display Martyn is involved with. Equally as at home firing manually or electronically you can usually see Martyn through the smoke of a display ensuring the intensity and success of manual displays. He has been involved in the industry now for 8 years during which time his skill set has reached a very high level. Martyn currently holds both the BPA level one and level two certification.
Glyn also draws upon a huge resource of experience in pyrotechnical events and displays. Specialising more recently in ground based ordinance, Glyn's skills ensure that it is not only the sky that provides a feast for your eyes, but also that there is plenty to see in front from the ground. A skilled team leader with an eye to make the best of the fireworks at his disposal Glyn always provides that something ‘a little bit special’ for the crowd, and the applause extended at the end of any display he has choreographed bear testament to this. Glyn currently holds both the BPA level one and level two certification.
Daniel is an established member of the Nightsparx team and has over 10 years experience of firing and designing displays. A skilled technician, Daniel specialises in fusing and firing aerial ordinance, and is a keen Team Leader on manually fired displays. Daniel maintains a presence on many pyrotechnic based websites and is always up to date on current matters and news within the industry. Has recently worked on some of Star Fireworks most prestigious displays and is a competent and respected professional firer. Daniel currently holds both the BPA level one and level two certification.
Christian is one of the newest members of the NightSparx team and is based near Cambridge. An old School friend of Martyn’s, Christian cut his pyrotechnic teeth experimenting with combustible chemicals as part of his chemistry studies. From there, the rest as they say is history.
